Our Pet Grasshopper

Sammie showing her new pet Sammie blowing a kiss goodbye before we left for town

Saige looking at her pet from a distance
Grandma Carol and Gradpa Kent got the girls a bug cage so they went out on a bug hunt. They found anew pet grasshopper which Sammie loved to hold and begged to bring it with us to Walmart. I had to explain the no pet rule in stores so we put it in the cage and it stayed home with dad. Saige loved her new pet from a distance but she did not like to hold it she said it tickled her hand. I am sorry to say that our pet was left out in the sun and has now passed away.

Nyman cousins at the pool

Saige showing off that she can put her head under water
Sammie jumping off the diving board
Sammie has to get nachos and a icy every time we go to the pool(Sammie and Mal)Saige was cold and needed towel

We thought while Lonnie's boys were in town we better fit in the Logan pool one more time before school started. The weather was overcast so it wasn't hot at all and there was very few people at the pool so we hit the slide a lot. Saige is so proud that she dares to stick her head in the water this year so the whole time we were there she kept having everyone watch her. Sammie loved jumping off the diving board and the slide of course. All the cousins had fun trying to dunk Clark in the water. Besides being a little cool when you got out of the pool it was a great day.

This year we did something different we went down to Salt Lake and spent the night. Clark had to work for a couple of hours on the 23rd so me and the girls went to the Gateway for a little girls day out. First we went to build a bear workshop it was so cute to watch the girls pick out and build their animals. Samantha chose a monkey she named Alicia that she dressed in Hanna Montanna clothes. Saige chose a bunny named Sophie that she dressed in a Snow white dress. They even got to give them a bath. After I toke them to the children's museum which was a lot of fun as well but the whole time we were there the girls were so excited about their new animals they just wanted to go back to the hotel and play with them so the museum was short live but is was fun. We pick up Clark and went to dinner and then back to the hotel. We planned on going to the parade in the morning but the girls woke up and wanted to go swimming instead so we watched part of the parade on TV wish was weird because the parade was just up the street. We went to temple square and went to the Joseph Smith movie which was excellent and the girls were glued and asked a lot of questions wichwas a great teaching opportunity. Last second we got tickets to the Days of 47 rodeo it was the girls first rodeo. It was very entertaining to watch. I think the girls favorite part was the cowboy hats that we got them. I am sure we could also find at the local dollar store. After the Rodeo we stop and let the girls run through the fountains at Gateway before heading home. We made it home in time for the fireworks in Logan but the girls fell a sleep in the car so we just came home and went to bed.

Gone fishing

Saige relaxing waiting for the ducks to come eat the bread

We head back to our favorite little fishing spot at Willow park We went with grandma and grandpa Nyman and Lonnie and the boys. We didn't catch a fish but we caught a few ducks. Well not exactly, Saige and grandpa put bread on the end of her fishing pole and the ducks would come eat it . Saige thought it was so cool. Samantha practiced casting and she is getting really good. This little pond is a fun shady spot to hang out and visit with family.

Mini golf in the 100 degree weather

We went tot he Celebration center with the Nyman cousins we had a great time. the kids loved playing in the soft play area which had big slide, climbing area and a blowup tramp. We also went miniature golfing but it was way too hot the kids basically had a race through all the holes to see who could get done the fastest. to finish off the day we went on the go-carts .Saige and I raced Samantha and her Dad. They had a head start because they were one car ahead of us. It was neck and neck the whole time but we let them win so we didn't hurt dad's pride.

A friend from the ward invited us to the Brigham pool it was fun .I like the kid pool better than the Logan pool and it is not as crowded. It was plenty warm the kids had a blast. Clark came for part of the time the kids loved that because he is much more fun than mom in the pool.
